This report, developed within the Master’s Degree in Nursing with Specialization in Community and Public Health Nursing, critically describes and analyses the final clinical placement, focused on the acquisition of specialized competences. Promoting healthy lifestyles during adolescence is recognized as a strategic public health priority, given the importance of this life stage in consolidating behaviours that extend into adulthood, particularly in vocational education settings. The internship took place in a Community Care Unit in Northern Portugal, using the health planning methodology to intervene on health determinants among vocational school adolescents and other community groups. In the diagnostic phase, the “Tenho um Estilo de Vida FANTÁSTICO?” questionnaire was administered to students from three vocational schools, allowing the characterization of lifestyles in an exclusively male group in the intervened school and the identification of specific vulnerabilities in the domains of nutrition, physical activity/sleep and mental health/stress management. These results supported the design and implementation of the project “Saúde em Construção: Força é Cuidar!”, structured into two thematic modules – mental health and emotional management; healthy eating and active lifestyle – whose construction integrated active methodologies and the selection of innovative pedagogical and technological strategies specifically designed to engage the vocational school target group. The intervention incorporated digital tools (Mentimeter, QR codes, Padlets), thematic stations and interactive visual materials, aiming to promote health literacy at its different levels and to deconstruct gender stereotypes associated with masculinity. Evaluation was based on process and outcome indicators, including pre- and post-test instruments, and showed immediate gains in literacy and critical awareness regarding lifestyles, as well as greater openness to discussing topics such as emotions, stress and nutrition in the school context. Additionally, other relevant activities were developed, such as sessions with teaching and non-teaching staff, interventions with older adults and informal caregivers, collaboration in ongoing projects, development of educational materials and participation in scientific dissemination and advocacy, reinforcing the transversal nature of community intervention. It is concluded that the internship pathway contributed to consolidating competences in planning, leadership, care management, epidemiological surveillance and research, supporting the role of the specialist nurse in Community Nursing in promoting healthy lifestyles and achieving health gains sensitive to nursing care.
