Abstract(s)

The phenomenon under study was the nurses' adherence to the mechanical ventilation-associated pneumonia prevention bundle, namely due to the factors that influence it. The area of study addressed corresponds to my interest and concern for improving the quality of care for patients undergoing Invasive Mechanical Ventilation in the context of a critical patient. In the scope of clinical practice, I carried out training and audits on the implementation of the Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Prevention (VAP) bundle in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) service. The structuring of thought in Nursing integrated the middle range theory of Afaf Meleis - Theory of Transition.
