Abstract(s)
No
Through the story of the paralytic, the Joanine text (Jn 5, 1-9) shows that the "world" needs to recognize Jesus as the messenger of the Father, the one who came to save humankind. According to the Johannine witness, the world is also a place that tries to resist the word of Jesus and hates the Only Begotten and those who follow him (Jn 15:18). The author tells us that the Logos came to his own and his own did not recognize him (Jn 1-11), bringing forth two aspects: a) welcoming the Logos as the vital response to his testimony; b) the fact that the world and the people did not accept the Logos (Jn 18: 1ff). In the fourth Gospel, we see Jesus who wants everyone to live from God by manifesting him as he is, unity of life
