A cruz é a máxima epifania do amor de Deus Trindade pelo mundo. Pela sua
centralidade na fé cristã, ao longo dos séculos, poetas e teólogos cantaram os louvores da cruz
e reflectiram cada vez mais profundamente sobre o seu mistério. A uns e outros uniu a mesma
fé, que é a fé que a Igreja expressa na sua oração pública e oficial. Desde o séc. IX, o hino
Pange, lingua, gloriosi, do poeta Venâncio Fortunato (c.530 – c.600), faz parte da Liturgia
católica, sendo usado particularmente no rito da Adoração da Cruz em Sexta-feira Santa. No
presente trabalho, pretende-se fazer uma leitura teológica desse hino, partindo da obra
Teodramática, de Hans Urs von Balthasar, teólogo católico do séc. XX.
The cross is the highest epiphany of the love of God Trinity for the world. Due to its centrality in the Christian faith, over the centuries, poets and theologians have sung the praises of the cross and reflected deeper and deeper on its mistery. To each and everyone united the same faith, which is the one that the Church expresses in its public and official prayer. From the 9th century, the hymn Pange, lingua, gloriosi, by the poet Venantius Fortunatus (c.530 – c. 600), is part of the Catholic Liturgy, being particularly used during the Veneration of the Cross, on Good Friday. In this present work, we intend to make a theological reading of this hymn, starting from the work Theo-Drama, by Hans Urs von Balthasar, catholic theologian of the 20th century.
