Abstract(s)
A população alvo deste
(Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test). Estes instrumentos
recorrendo ao programa informático Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
Participaram neste estudo, 160 utentes de diversas comunidades terapêuticas do Norte e
Centro do país.
Substance consumption is an extremely important issue today and this consumption can lead to dependence. In this sense, this study seeks to understand the preparation of users for treatment in the therapeutic community. That is, to the extent that users are motivated, prepared and whether circumstances influence treatment. The target population of this study are male and female users, of age who are undergoing treatment in the therapeutic community. Using the Quality of Life Questionnaire, the Scale for the Treatment of Substance Abuse, and finally the ASSIST (Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test). These instruments were distributed in the context of a meeting and, before their distribution, proceeded in an appropriate manner, requesting the appropriate authorizations from the person responsible for the community and informing the users of the purpose of the investigation. Data processing is anonymous and confidential, and data analysis was carried out using questionnaires applied using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. 160 users participated in this study, from different therapeutic communities in the North and Center of the country. The results obtained indicate that the users' circumstances of life, and the way they feel prepared, have an influence on treatment in the therapeutic community. It was also possible to verify the existence of variables that facilitate treatment, such as age, number of hospitalizations and the substance most consumed by users.
