Abstract(s)
As considerações feitas no Editorial foram inspiradas pela celebração do vigésimo aniversário da criação em Portugal do 1º Mestrado de Estudos sobre as Mulheres e pelo falecimento de Ana Vicente, cuja acção e intervenção, tanto na vida universitária como social e religiosa no nosso país, foi de extrema importância para a luta pela defesa dos direitos das mulheres. Ao analisar o impacto das teorias concebidas na área dos Estudos sobre as Mulheres e da sua filosofia para o desenvolvimento do mundo académico e social, verifica-se que é inegável que elas contribuíram para uma mudança de paradigma intelectual, isto é, para a alteração dos modelos seguidos para organizar o conhecimento no mundo da investigação universitária assim como na erudição em geral e no saber relativo aos próprios Estudos sobre as Mulheres. O conhecimento implícito assim adquirido pretende ainda estabelecer um terreno comum entre as diferentes disciplinas, tendo, por isso, também impacto no desenvolvimento das principais matérias.
The theme of this Editorial was inspired by the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the 1st Master Course on Women Studies in Portugal in 1995 and by the demise of Ana Vicente, whose action and intervention, both in the academic and social and religious life in our country, was extremely important in the fight for the defense of women ́s rights. When we analyze the impact of the theories produced in the area of Women Studies and its philosophy for the development of the Portuguese university and society, we see that it is irrefutable that they contributed to a change in the intellectual paradigm. There is, therefore, an alteration of the models, which are followed to organize knowledge in academic research as well as in scholarship in general and, obviously, in what concerns Women Studies itself. The objective of the implicit knowledge thus acquired is to establish a common ground between the different subject matters, thus having an impact in the development of the main fields of study. Among the bibliographical references, we mention Alex Castro, Nadya Aisenberg and Martha Nussbaum.
