| dc.description.abstract | No nosso mundo materialista, onde todos evitam sofrer, parecemos necessitar da ajuda de poetas românticos como William Blake e John Keats, que nos levam a ver a beleza em todas as coisas. A nossa escolha justifica-se também por ambos partilharem um interesse pela noção de alma e pelos aspectos mais subjectivos e irracionais da natureza humana como a emoção, a imaginação e a introspecção. Blake destaca-se por ser uma figura primordial na história da poesia e das artes visuais. Da sua obra focamos sobretudo Songs of Innocence and Experience a que o poeta-artista atribuiu o subtítulo Showing the Two Contrary Statesof Human Soul, advertindo assim o leitor de que se iria debruçar sobre a alma, na qual considerava que havia "oposições necessárias". John Keats, considerado como o mais gnóstico dos românticos ingleses, via este mundo como "The Valley of Soul-making" pois pensava que as dificuldades que nele encontramos são necessárias para o desenvolvimento do carácter, seguindo assim a ideia gnóstica de que se obtinha a salvação da alma através de um auto-conhecimento que implicava uma intensificação da consciência. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | In our materialistic world, where everyone avoids suffering, we seem to need the help of romantic poets, such as William Blake and John Keats, who make us see beauty everywhere. Our choice is also justified because they both share an interest for the concept of soul and for the more subjective and irrational aspects of human nature, such as emotion, imagination and introspection. Blake stands out because he is a fundamental figure in the history of poetry and visual arts and, from his work, we will mainly focus Songs of Innocence and Experience to which the poet-artist attributed the subtitle Showing the Two Contrary Statesof Human Soul, thus warning his readers that he would analyze the concept of soul in which he thought there were "necessary oppositions". | eng |
