Monsenhor Luigi Giussani (1922-2005) procurou em toda a sua vida um encontro total com Aquele que nos fez o coração e que, em cada instante, nos chama ao amor, à felicidade, à verdade, à beleza. Aponta assim para o Mistério de Deus, que é também o mistério do mundo e o mistério do Homem. O homem que traz inscrito no íntimo de si mesmo um sentido religioso como curiosidade pelo Mistério e desejo de eternidade. Giussani empenha-se em oferecer um método que permita ao Homem satisfazer tais anseios, e intui que o contacto com a realidade poderá ser o meio eficaz, particularmente pela via da beleza e da música. Através da sua paixão pela música, e pelo sentido religioso da música, o autor mostra como esta pode ser, por afinidade e analogia, um pórtico para o Mistério de Deus, e a beleza do Verbo encarnado em Jesus Cristo.

Thus, the author points to the Mystery of God which is also the mystery of the world and the mystery of Man. In his personal inmost, Man brings a religious sense as a curiosity about the Mystery and desire for eternity. Giussani strives to offer a method that allows the Man to fulfil these yearnings and foresees that contact with reality might be the efficient means, particularly in the case of beauty and music. Through his passion for music and its religious sense, the author shows how, through affinity and resemblance, it may be a gateway to the Mystery of God and the beauty of the Word in Jesus Christ incarnate.
