Abstract(s)
The increase in the incidence of Burnout among health professionals has aroused global attention and concern in organizations, so research on the factors associated with this phenomenon has increased. In this context, this thesis explores the relationship between the Job Demands and Resources in Burnout, Performance, Clinical Errors, and Risk Perception. A quantitative approach was used, applying questionnaires to a sample of 103 health professionals, most of them nurses. Instruments were used to measure the different dimensions of Job Demands and Resources, the 3 dimensions of Burnout, the perception of performance and Clinical Error. The results highlight the importance of making resources available in organizations to reduce Burnout, pointing to a link between a high level of Job Demands associated with reduced levels of Resources leads to a reduction in cognitive flexibility, and consequently increased likelihood of occurrence of clinical errors. The limitations of the study and recommendations for future investigations are also discussed, emphasizing the need for additional qualitative studies to understand causal relationships and explore effective interventions.
