Abstract(s)
O tema central desta dissertação tem a ver com a análise e discussão da forma como a UE tem vindo a receber os refugiados provenientes do Médio Oriente, em particular da Síria, assim como das políticas de asilo e a investigação da regulamentação dessas políticas no seio da UE. O Médio Oriente é uma região onde sempre se registaram conflitos de múltipla natureza, sobretudo de origem religiosa e territorial. Por outro lado, é uma região de onde provêm uma parte significativa do número total de refugiados, em particular devido ao conflito na Síria. Neste sentido, é concedida a devida atenção à garantia dos Direitos Humanos dos refugiados que chegam à Europa. Em todo este contexto, é que igual modo analisado, o papel central que a ONU, em particular o Alto Comissariado das Nações Unidas para os Refugiados, desempenhou e continua a desempenhar em todo este contexto.
The central theme of this dissertation has to do with the analysis and discussion of the way in which the EU has been receiving refugees from the Middle East, in particular Syria, as well as asylum policies and the study of the regulation of these policies within the EU. The Middle East is a region where there have always been conflicts of a manifold nature, especially of religious and territorial origin. On the other hand, it is a region from which a significant part of the total number of refugees comes, in particular due to the conflict in Syria. In this regard, due attention is paid to guaranteeing the human rights of refugees arriving in Europe. In this context, the central role that the UN, in particular the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, has played and continues to play in this context.
