Resumo: a problematicidade inerente à relação hodierna entre Ciência e Ética – historicamente conturbada, socialmente inquietante e essencialmente derivada, na nossa ótica, da conjugação da educação positiva do investigador laboratorial com as regras de mercado biocapitalista – despoletou, nas últimas décadas, reações circunspectas nos meios culturais e académicos, sobretudo filosóficos, dos quais têm vindo a transcorrer, na circunstância, desígnios descritivos de intendência bioética das tecnologias biomédicas. Avaliada maioritariamente, por parte da comunidade científica, como vetor de ingerência externa em áreas de hiperespecialização epistémica, a tendência prospetiva destes movimentos institucionalizados promoveria, a montante, por parte daquela, planos de veemente oposição reativa, aos quais se seguiriam, de forma estratégica, programas pouco lídimos de acomodação do «constrangimento» ético no asséptico ambiente investigacional. Na complexidade do contexto biotecnológico atual, contudo, a investigação em células estaminais humanas parece consubstanciar-se a um reequacionamento da supracitada relação entre ciência e normatividade, uma vez que a centralidade que a pesquisa estaminal não-embrionária – despojada das dubiedades éticas contíguas ao estatuto do embrião humano – vem granjeando, parece demonstrar como estratégias investigacionais epistemicamente abalizadas e eticamente sustentáveis são possíveis de coadunar, harmonizando-se com as postulações do gregariamente desejável.
Abstract: the problematicity inherent to the modern relationship between Science and Ethics – historically convoluted, socially disquieting and essentially derived, in our point of view, from the conjugation of the positive education of the scientific researcher with the biocapitalist market rules – has sparked, over the last decades, circumspect reactions in the cultural and academic environments, namely in the philosophical ones, from which descriptive designs of bioethical supervision of the biomedical technologies have been occurring. Evaluated, by the scientific community, mainly as a vector of external intrusion in areas of epistemic hyperspecialization, the prospective trend of these institutionalized movements would promote plans of vehement reactive opposition by that community, which would be strategically followed by undeserving programmes of accommodation of the ethical «constraint» in the aseptic research environment. However, within the complexity of the current biotechnological context, research on human stem cells seems to have settled in to the shift of the above-mentioned relationship between science and morality, since the centrality that non-embryonic stem cell research – devoid of the ethical doubts tied to the human embryo status – has been gaining seems to demonstrate how epistemically distinguished and ethically sustainable research strategies can be combined, in keeping with the postulations of what is gregariously desirable.
