Este Relatório de Atividade Clínica (RAC) marca o final do meu percurso no Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Dentária da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Viseu). Mais do que uma exigência académica, este documento reflete o trabalho realizado e a evolução clínica alcançada ao longo <br/>do 5.º ano no âmbito do Binómio 224. Ao longo destas páginas, pretendo apresentar não apenas os atos clínicos efetuados, mas também a forma como o meu raciocínio clínico se foi desenvolvendo e a relevância da componente humana na relação com os pacientes. O relatório encontra-se organizado em duas partes principais. Numa primeira fase, dedicada ao Portfólio Digital, apresento a minha casuística clínica através da análise de dados estatísticos. Esta informação permite evidenciar a diversidade de tratamentos realizados nas diferentes áreas da Medicina Dentária, com destaque para a dentisteria operatória, endodontia, periodontologia e Medicina Dentária preventiva. A segunda parte centra-se na descrição detalhada de dois casos clínicos que exigiram um planeamento cuidadoso e a integração de evidência científica recente. O primeiro caso aborda o tratamento endodôntico do dente 15, diagnosticado com pulpite irreversível, sendo os principais desafios o isolamento adequado, a necessidade de reconstrução pré-endodôntica e a execução rigorosa dos procedimentos biomecânicos para preservar o dente natural. O segundo caso descreve a reabilitação estética e funcional do setor anterior (dentes 11 e 21) num paciente de 13 anos com antecedentes de trauma e oclusão topo a topo. A abordagem adotada foi minimamente invasiva, recorrendo à utilização de resina composta direta estratificada, com auxílio de uma chave palatina e de um protocolo adesivo de dois passos, de forma a assegurar retenção e resistência adequadas perante a sobrecarga mecânica existente. Em suma, este relatório reflete a passagem gradual do conhecimento teórico para a prática clínica, mantendo sempre uma abordagem ética, conservadora e suportada pela evidência científica mais atual.
This Clinical Activity Report (RAC) marks the end of my journey in the Integrated Master's program in Dental Medicine at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Viseu). More than an academic requirement, this document reflects the work performed and the clinical evolution achieved during <br/>the 5th year within the scope of Binomial 224. Throughout these pages, I intend to present not only the clinical procedures performed, but also how my clinical reasoning developed and the relevance of the human component in the relationship with patients. The report is organized into two main parts. In the first phase, dedicated to the Digital Portfolio, I present my clinical caseload through the analysis of statistical data. This information highlights the diversity of treatments performed across different areas of Dental Medicine, with an emphasis on operative dentistry, endodontics, periodontology, and preventive dentistry. The second part focuses on the detailed description of two clinical cases that required careful planning and the integration of recent scientific evidence. The first case addresses the endodontic treatment of tooth 15, diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis, the main challenges being proper isolation, the need for a pre-endodontic build-up, and the rigorous execution of biomechanical procedures to preserve the natural tooth. The second case describes the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation of the anterior sector (teeth 11 and 21) in a 13-year-old patient with a history of trauma and an edge-to-edge occlusion. The approach adopted was minimally invasive, using stratified direct composite resin with the aid of a palatal silicone index and a two-step adhesive protocol, in order to ensure adequate retention and resistance against the existing mechanical overload. In summary, this report reflects the gradual transition from theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, always maintaining an ethical and conservative approach supported by the most current scientific <br/>evidence.
