Abstract(s)
This internship report comes from the Master in Palliative Care which took place in a Community Palliative Care Support Team (ECSCP). He describes the development of the acquisition of competences for the master's degree in palliative care (PC). It aims to present the competencies developed in the context of the internship in PC in the home care. The specific goals are both to frame and justify the internship; to characterize the home palliative care team where the internship took place; analyze the own learning objectives, focused on competences acquisition; perform critical appraisal of both learnings, personal and professional changes. The internship had a total workload of three hundred hours, as a way to be able to develop and deepen skills in providing PC. A critical analysis of the outlined objectives was elaborated and brief reflection of personal and professional learning and change has been prepared. For the development of skills in the management area, a proposal for an intervention protocol in support of mourning adapted to ECSCP was built. This proposal was presented to ECSCP, as formative session, to develop skills in the area of education. For the development of competences in the research area, a textual synthesis review of the literature was performed, in the form of an article, which presents interventions that favour the anticipatory grief process of family and caregivers. These are divided into three components: the cognitive component, the emotional component and the social component. Skills development in the area of care delivery took into account the provision of full and individualized PC as a nurse to the patient and family at their home in multidisciplinary team. Solidifying learning and developing reflective practice were qualities perfected throughout the internship. Through both learning path and results presented, is considered achieved both the objectives and the skills to acquisition of the master's degree in PC were conquered.
