O presente esteve teve como objetivo geral conhecer o consumo de álcool e a sua relação com as atitudes sobre a gravidez e a maternidade nas mulheres grávidas portuguesas do Norte do país.
Para este estudo, recorreu-se a 134 mulheres grávidas com idades compreendidas entre os 17 e os 41 anos. Os dados foram recolhidos em contextos de saúde públicos, privados e em situações informais. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a Escala de Atitudes sobre a Gravidez e a Maternidade – EAGM e o Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test – AUDIT. Os principais resultados demonstram que 15.7% da nossa amostra revela consumo de álcool durante a gravidez. Encontramos também correlações negativas marginalmente significativas entre o consumo de álcool e as subescalas “O Filho Imaginado” e “Gravidez como Fator de Mudança/ Crescimento Pessoal”.
Este estudo aponta para a necessidade de continuidade desta linha de investigação, de modo a obter uma melhor compreensão da relação do fenómeno da gravidez e o consumo de álcool.

For this study, we used 134 pregnant women with age range between 17 and 41 years old. Data was collected in public and private health centers and in causal situations. The instruments used were Pregnancy and Motherhood Attitude Scale (EAGM) and Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test – AUDIT.
