Abordagens ao estudo do instrumento musical : tempo de estudo, métodos e mindsets

| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho visa conhecer métodos, práticas, crenças e conhecimentos sobre o estudo instrumental, o tempo que lhe é dedicado, bem como a influência dos mindsets, através de uma revisão de investigação científica neste domínio e de entrevistas realizadas junto de instrumentistas e professores de instrumento atuantes num universo nacional. Esta pesquisa ambiciona poder munir o seu consultante de algumas ferramentas concretas que lhe permitam refinar, racionalizar e potenciar a eficácia do seu estudo, expondo-lhe, de forma mais organizada, a informação fulcral e credível que existe sobre esta matéria na atualidade. Os estudos, investigação e literatura consultada são, globalmente, uni-disciplinares, pelo que a presente dissertação procura realizar um exercício de cruzamento entre distintas abordagens: médica, psicológica, científica e artística, contemplando também autores que, de alguma forma, se destacaram e credibilizaram na análise da performance, treino e progressão até à excelência do indivíduo numa determinada área. Realizou-se um inquérito a 102 músicos portugueses. Os resultados revelaram que, apesar da significativa abundância de investigação na temática do estudo instrumental, os métodos e práticas dos músicos inquiridos são, nesta matéria, pouco sustentados em conhecimento sólido e devidamente documentado - científico ou não científico. A aprendizagem poderá radicar fundamentalmente numa passagem de testemunho de experiência, uma herança muito genérica de saberes que vão transitando de professores para alunos que, por sua vez, se transformam nos professores da geração seguinte, perpetuando o ciclo. Verificou-se existir uma enfatização do tempo de estudo, concentração, método, motivação, regularidade do estudo e da definição objetivos em detrimento do peso do talento. No entanto, aspetos como o bem-estar físico, o estudo mental e o ajuste para o mindset de crescimento não registaram a atribuição da devida importância, assim como o recurso à gravação e a criatividade. Concluiu-se ser necessário que estes aspetos sejam mais relevados pelos músicos, instrumentistas e docentes, e que os horizontes de conhecimentos e métodos possam ser sistematicamente alargados, evitando o risco de obsolescência. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present work aims to know methods, practices, beliefs and knowledge regarding the instrumental practice, how much time should one dedicate it, as well as the influence of mindsets, through reviewing scientific researches over the theme and interviewing instrumentalists and instrument teachers, working within a nationwide universe. This research aims to provide its consultant with concrete tools that allow him to refine, rationalize and enhance the effectiveness of his practising, exposing to him, in a more organized way, the central and credible information that exists on this matter at the present time. The studies, research and literature consulted, are globally narrowly focused, so the present dissertation seeks to carry out an exercise of cross-referencing between different approaches: clinical, psychological, scientific and artistic, contemplating also authors who somehow stood out and gained credibility in the analysis of the performance, training and progression towards excellence of the individual in a given area. 102 Portuguese musicians where inquired. The results showed that, despite the prolific research on the subject of instrumental study, the methods and practices of the inquired musicians have, in this matter, little support given by solid and properly documented knowledge - scientific or non-scientific. Learning can be fundamentally based on a legacy transmission, where experience (while a very generic inheritance of knowledge) goes from teachers to students, who, in turn, become the teachers for the next generation, perpetuating the cycle. Aspects such as practice amount of time, focus, method, motivation, practice regularity and goal setting seemed to be more emphasised than the importance of talent. However, aspects such as the physical wellbeing, mental practice and the growth mindset were not given the right importance; neither did the habit of recording their playing or creativity. Conclusions outlined that those same aspects should deserve more relevance and that the horizons of knowledge can be systematically extended, avoiding obsolescence. | pt_PT |
