António Feijó (1859‑1917) é um poeta pós‑romântico em cuja escrita ocorrem manifestações do s agrado e do religioso. Primeiro, destacam‑se as dispersas referências mitológicas – dos mitos greco‑latinos aos mitos literários modernos; segundo, sobressaem as ocorrência de um discurso religioso, de inspiração cristã, em tensão com certa ideologia positivista, defensora da Ciência e do Progresso da sociedade moderna. Sintomaticamente, essa dimensão da teográfica da poética de Feijó é mais evidente nos textos do início e final da sua carreira literária – juventude e outono da vida.
António Feijó (1859 1917) is a post romantic poet in whose writings demonstrations of religiosity and of the sacred belief surface. Firstly, scattered mythological references both inspired by Greek and Latin myths and from modern literary myths can easily be detected; secondly, one notices the recurrence of a religious discourse of Christian inspiration. These occurrences disclose a certain resistance against some positivist ideology promoting Science and Progress in modern society. Revealingly, this theographic dimension of Feijó’s works becomes clearer within the texts written at the beginning and by the end of his literary career, that is during his youth and old age.
