Abstract(s)
O relatório que ora se apresenta, e que reflecte o percurso desenvolvido no âmbito da
Unidade Curricular Estágio, integrado no Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem de Natureza Profissional, na área de Especialização em Saúde Infantil e Pediatria, resulta de uma análise critico-reflexiva de toda a experiência vivenciada, em contexto da
prática, que conduziu à aquisição de competências, na área da EESIP, sustentada pela consolidação de um saber científico, mas também pelo resultado do trabalho de
aprendizagem, das actividades desenvolvidas e dos recursos utilizados. Tem como
finalidade dar a conhecer os alicerces e as premissas que fundamentam a área temática
transversal a todos os estágios – A Criança e a Família em Contexto Transcultural,
assim como os pressupostos teóricos baseados no modelo transcultural de Madeleine
Leininger – pioneira na área da transculturalidade, muito embora façamos também referência a outros autores que consideramos profícuos e que também se notabilizaram nesta temática ou em outras relacionadas. Estabelecemos como objectivo
geral/transversal: Desenvolver competências na prestação de cuidados de enfermagem à
criança/jovem/família, numa perspectiva transcultural, no âmbito das funções atribuídas ao EESIP.
Todo este percurso se desenvolveu em contextos fortemente marcados pela
transculturalidade, designadamente, no Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde (ACES) de
Oeiras – Mód. I, no Serviço de Cardiologia Pediátrica do Hospital de Santa Marta em
Lisboa – Mód. II, na Unidade de Cuidados Neonatais da Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da
Costa em Lisboa e na Urgência Pediátrica do Hospital Fernando Fonseca – Amadora
Sintra – Mód. III, onde foi possível mobilizar conhecimentos e experiências anteriores no sentido de salientar a importância da construção de uma enfermagem transcultural, baseada em princípios humanos e científicos. Assim, todas as intervenções
desenvolvidas dirigidas à criança/Jovem/família tiveram como base pressupostos de um cuidar culturalmente congruente e sensível. Destas, destacamos a elaboração de documento facilitador da prática de cuidados de enfermagem à criança/família (Ficha de Sinalização de Crianças e Jovens em Situação de Risco ou Perigo), a tradução de quatro Guias de Acolhimento em Crioulo e em Inglês, a elaboração do projecto para implementação de um Grupo de Ajuda Mútua para Pais de Crianças com Doença Crónica.
This document, developed within the Curriculum Stage Unit, integrated on the Professional Master's Degree in Nursing - area of specialization in Pediatrics and Child Health, results from a critical and reflective analysis of all the experience on the Curriculum Stage Unit, which led to the acquisition of skills on the activities undertaken and resources used, underpinned by the consolidation of scientific knowledge, but also the result of learning work. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the foundation and assumptions that underlie the subject area across all stages - The Child and Family in Cross-Cultural Context, as well as Madeleine Leininger’s (a pioneer in the field of cross-culturality) theoretical model based on cross-culturality, but we also refer to other authors that are notorious in this and other related themes. We established as a general/transversal objective: developing skills in providing nursing care to children/youth/family in a cross-cultural perspective, within the tasks assigned to EESIP. This whole way has been developed in contexts marked by strong cross-culturality, namely, at the Oeiras Group Health Centre (ACES), in the Pediatric Cardiology Department - Santa Marta Hospital in Lisbon, at the Neonatal Care Unit - Dr. Alfredo da Costa Maternity in Lisbon and in the Pediatric Emergency Department - Fernando Fonseca Hospital - Amadora Sintra, where it was possible to mobilize knowledge and past experiences in order to emphasize the importance of building a cross-cultural nursing based on scientific and human principles. Thus, all the developed interventions with children, youth and family were based on assumptions of a culturally congruent and sensitive care. Among those interventions, we highlight the preparation of a document that explain the practice of nursing care of children/family (Signs of Children and Youth at Risk or Danger Sheet), four translations of Home Guides to Creole and English, the project planning for implementation of a Mutual Help Group for Parents of Children with Chronic Illness.
