Abstract(s)
The following report, arises within the scope of the Master's Course in Medical Surgical Nursing: Person in Critical Situation, from Catholic University of Portugal ¬ School of Nursing Lisbon. This report has as main goal, the description and analysis of my progress throughout this course, through a reflexive methodology, in order to demonstrate and prove the skills acquired and fundament the titles to which i propose to: Master in Nursing and specialist nurse in the previously identified area. In order to gain the master skills mentioned on Article 15 of the legal regime for higher education degrees and diplomas, i did a scoping type review about “ Communication strategies with the person in critical situation in the Emergency Service.” The results of this review, allowed a fundamention of diverse activities developed to the acquisition of specialist nurse skills. Communication is seen as a process which envolves trade of existent information between atleast two individuals, however, communication in heatlh goes beyond this simple conversation, but also with a view to analize and deep masteries. A correct therapeutic relationship between nurse and the person cared of is essencial, in order to positively influence the individual, bringing health gains to this one and to the community. The present academic and professional path, went through a pratical component which, according to the orientation guide of this course, had place in three different contexts: a general emergency service, an intensive care unit and in the context of pre hospital emergency. The acquisiton of the specialist nurse skills were analyzed based on the regulations that establish the nursing specialties. According to Regulation No. 140/2019, Article 6, published by the Order of Nurses, where the common skills of the specialist nurse are presented, I highlight the “Skills in the field of continuous quality improvement”, where i demonstrate skills of quality practice and care wrapped in a therapeutic and safe environment. The specific skills of the specialist nurse, in the area above mentioned, were developed across the three clinical teaching contexts, being the development of communication strategies transversal to all of them. At the end of this journey, the objectives previously established were in my sight, achieved, and at the same time developed specialized nursing care. This phase of my professional and academic life is just the beginning of something that I intend to develop, 12 in order to keep my knowledge up to date and provide a humanizing and differentiated care.
