Abstract(s)
A escola ocupa um lugar fundamental na vida dos adolescentes e jovens. A escola é um dos
principais espaços de socialização. Um espaço de desenvolvimento pessoal e social. A presença
da disciplina de Educação Moral e Religiosa Católica nas escolas contribui para a formação
integral que se prevê nos vários documentos recentes na área da educação. A educação na
atualidade carece, cada vez mais, da abordagem a todas as áreas da vida humana, onde se inclui
a religião e a espiritualidade. Com a evolução da sociedade, religião, religiosidade e
espiritualidade sofreram alterações no modo como são percecionadas e vividas. Hoje os alunos
sentem-se, muitas vezes, perdidos no meio de tanta informação que é fornecida no contexto
global em que se inserem. É necessário mostra-lhes que a espiritualidade cristã é válida como
processo de desenvolvimento pessoal, social e religioso. Importa ajudar os adolescentes e
jovens a ir ao encontro de Jesus e compreender que Ele confere um sentido à vida, permitindo
crescer na relação consigo mesmo, com os outros e com Deus.

The presence of the discipline of Catholic Moral and Religious Education at schools contributes to the integral formation that is foreseen in the various recent documents in the education area. Nowadays, education needs more and more an approach to all areas of human life, including religion and spirituality. With the evolution of society, religion, religiosity and spirituality suffered changes in the way they were perceived and lived. Today, students feel lost in the midst of too much information provided from the global context in which they are inserted. It is necessary to make them to see that christian spirituality is valid for the process of personal, social and religious development. It is important to help adolescent and young people to find a path to meet Jesus and understand that He gives meaning to life, allowing them to grow in their relationship with themselves, with others and with God.
