O programa Heroic Imagination Project visa a promoção de comportamentos prossociais e previne os comportamentos bystander, conformistas, preconceituosos e estereotipados. O presente estudo teve como principal objetivo avaliar o impacto da implementação do programa Heroic Imagination Project no desenvolvimento socioemocional de crianças e jovens provenientes de um contexto económico e social em risco. Participaram neste estudo oito participantes. O instrumento de recolha de dados foi um guião de entrevista semiestruturada construído e adaptado para este estudo. Os resultados evidenciam os efeitos positivos do programa Heroic Imagination Project nos participantes, abrangendo as dimensões comportamental, social, cognitiva, emocional e de consciência ambiental. Esses impactos foram refletidos na satisfação demonstrada por todos os participantes. A maioria das crianças e jovens também demonstraram uma aquisição de conhecimentos relacionados aos comportamentos prossociais. Considerando os resultados, são sugeridas algumas orientações práticas, tais como implementar o programa Heroic Imagination Project num maior número de contextos com crianças em situação de risco. Além disso, seria relevante realizar um estudo, envolvendo a participação dos encarregados de educação, a fim de compreender o impacto do programa nos participantes através do contexto familiar. Essas orientações práticas visam aprofundar a compreensão do seu impacto em diferentes áreas da vida dos participantes.
The Heroic Imagination Project aims to promote prosocial behaviors and prevent bystander, conformist, prejudiced, and stereotyped behaviors. The main objective of this study was to assess the impact of implementing the Heroic Imagination Project program on the socioemotional development of children and youth from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Eight participants took part in this study. The data collection instrument was a semi-structured interview script constructed and adapted for this study. The results highlight the positive effects of the Heroic Imagination Project program on the participants, encompassing behavioral, social, cognitive, emotional, and environmental awareness dimensions. These impacts were reflected in the satisfaction expressed by all participants. Most children and youth also demonstrated an acquisition of knowledge related to prosocial behaviors. Considering the results, some practical guidelines are suggested, such as implementing the Heroic Imagination Project program in a greater number of contexts with children at risk. Additionally, conducting a study involving the participation of parents or guardians to understand the program's impact in the family context would be relevant. These practical guidelines aim to deepen the understanding of the program's impact in different areas of participants' lives.
