This study arose as part of a project designed and developed during the MSc course in Community Health Nursing from Catholic University, in the period between April 19 and June 19, 2010, which corresponded to the Module Stage I and between September 27 and November 19, 2010. To make a diagnosis of the situation, we chose to use a set of methods in order to systematize the information on the study of sex education needs to implement the information office and student support. In this sense, became involved in the educational community by giving priority to working peer, team workers and teachers since the definition of joint strategies can contribute significantly to an effective change of attitudes and the healthy development of young people. This study fits into the category of exploratory and descriptive research, participants in the diagnostic phase of the situation were students and parents, after their informed consent and opting for the use of a questionnaire with open questions and closed for the diagnosis of needs, and responded to 189 students and 33 parents. For the analysis of data derived from questionnaires, we chose a quantitative approach by treating the data in SPSS and a qualitative methodology using content analysis, highlighting the most significant emerging areas. From our results showed that 97.88% of students felt it was important that there's information office, 82.01% indicated as a reason for its frequency to find answers to questions and 41.27% want to receive information about sexually transmitted infections. In relation to parents and guardians about 96.97% underlines its importance and 93.94% report that will promote student adherence to the frequency of the cabinet. After this phase has begun to draft policy with the opening of the cabinet that has now been renamed the Space and Health to promote the adhesion of students and teachers made up sessions for health education to 305 students by addressing the themes that stood out from the analysis of questionnaires and were HIV, Sexuality and Contraceptive Methods. The study's findings relate to the need to promote young people's health and preventing risk behaviours, and school health teams an essential role. However it seems that parents and guardians may be more involved and be more proactive in its relationship with the school. The existence of a reference site for the care of nursing students has proved of enormous importance in the joint in partnership with the educational community in the project intervention in education and health promotion directed at school students, playing an active role and consultant in this area.
