Introdução: A Incontinência urinária é uma problemática atual que se encontra sub-valorizada e sub-diagnosticada. No homem, a sua principal causa está relacionada com a cirurgia prostática, nomeadamente a Prostatectomia Radical. O tratamento conservador é uma das abordagens possíveis, sendo que neste incluem-se diversas intervenções. Objetivo: Examinar e mapear as intervenções para a incontinência urinária pós-prostatectomia e seus benefícios. Material e Métodos: Scoping review baseada na metodologia proposta pelo Joanna Briggs Institute. Foi construído o protocolo de scoping review tendo em conta os critérios definidos e a adequação às bases/repositórios propostos. A análise de relevância dos artigos, a extração e síntese dos dados será realizada por dois revisores independentes. Apresentação e interpretação dos resultados: Os resultados serão apresentados de forma descritiva, com recurso a tabelas, tendo em conta o objetivo e o foco da scoping review. Para além disso, será elaborado também um resumo narrativo onde se agregará e fará uma análise critico-reflexiva da informação obtida. Conclusões: Espera-se que esta scoping review permita a análise e sistematização dos estudos referentes aos programas dirigidos à incontinência urinária pós prostatectomia, contribuindo não apenas para a otimização desta prática clínica nesta população específica, mas também para a investigação científica nesta temática através da identificação de lacunas no conhecimento.
Introduction: Urinary incontinence is a current problem that is undervalued and underdiagnosed. In men, its main cause is related to prostate surgery, namely Radical Prostatectomy. Conservative treatment is one of the possible approaches, which includes several interventions. Objectives: Examine and map interventions for post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence and their benefits. Methodology: Scoping review based on the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. The scoping review protocol was constructed taking into account the defined criteria and suitability for the proposed bases/repositories. The relevance analysis of articles, data extraction and synthesis will be carried out by two independent reviewers. Presentation and interpretation of results: The results will be presented in a descriptive way, using tables, taking into account the objective and focus of the scoping review. In addition, a narrative summary will also be prepared in which a critical-reflective analysis of the information obtained will be aggregated and carried out. Conclusion: It is expected that this scoping review will allow the analysis and systematization of studies relating to programs aimed at post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence, contributing not only to the optimization of this clinical practice in this specific population, but also to scientific research on this topic through the identification of gaps in knowledge.
