Este relatório enquadra-se no âmbito da Unidade Curricular “Estágio Final e Relatório” integrada no plano curricular do 17º Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem, na área de especialização em Enfermagem Médico-cirúrgica: Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica, da Escola de Enfermagem de Lisboa da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Este documento pretende demonstrar de forma crítica e reflexiva, as competências adquiridas ao longo dos estágios, e a sua importância no desempenho das funções enquanto futura Enfermeira Especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica. Foi realizada uma revisão scoping, que visou mapear a melhor evidência sobre as estratégias do enfermeiro na prevenção e controlo de infeção no cuidado ao doente crítico. Esta investigação permitiu realçar as competências fundamentais dos enfermeiros na prevenção e controlo de infeção, sendo responsáveis por assegurar e providenciar um aumento da qualidade, da acessibilidade, da equidade e da eficiência dos cuidados de saúde dirigidos para os direitos e necessidades das pessoas que cuidam. Foram realizados dois estágios em contextos clínicos distintos, contudo no mesmo hospital, em Lisboa. O primeiro estágio decorreu no Atendimento Urgente, que permitiu mobilizar e adquirir conhecimentos e competências nos cuidados prestados à pessoa em situação crítica e sua família, nos diferentes contextos de urgência. O segundo estágio foi realizado na Unidade de Cuidados Intermédios, permitindo mobilizar e adquirir conhecimentos e competências na área da prestação de cuidados ao doente/família em situação crítica.
The report is part of the Curricular Unit “Final Internship and Report” included in the curricular plan of the 17th Master's Degree in Nursing, in the specialization area of Medical-Surgical Nursing: Nursing for the Person in Critical Situation, at the Lisbon Nursing School of the Portuguese Catholic University. This document aims to critically and reflectively demonstrate the skills acquired during the internships and their importance in performing functions as a future Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing. A scoping review was conducted, which aimed to map the best evidence on the nurse's strategies in the prevention and control of infection in the care of critically ill patients. This research highlighted the fundamental skills of nurses in the prevention and control of infection, being responsible for ensuring and providing an increase in the quality, accessibility, equity, and efficiency of healthcare directed towards the rights and needs of the people they care for. Two internships were carried out in different clinical contexts, but in the same hospital in Lisbon. The first internship took place in the Urgent Care, which allowed the mobilization and acquisition of knowledge and skills in the care provided to the person in a critical situation and their family, in different emergency contexts. The second internship was conducted in the Intermediate Care Unit, allowing the mobilization and acquisition of knowledge and skills in the area of care for the patient/family in a critical situation.
