As condições de trabalho e como estas influenciam a saúde e o bem-estar dos trabalhadores, bem como a produtividade, têm sido alvo de um interesse crescente por parte da comunidade científica e civil.
O presente estudo tem como objetivo caraterizar as condições de trabalho e os efeitos na saúde e bem-estar dos trabalhadores do Núcleo de Infância e Juventude da Unidade de Desenvolvimento Social do Centro Distrital do Porto. Assim, ancorado na abordagem da psicologia ergonómica, procurou-se identificar quais as exigências e constrangimentos do trabalho neste setor de atividade e os efeitos na saúde e bem-estar dos trabalhadores. O estudo contemplou verbalizações dos participantes e observações do contexto real do trabalho, que enriqueceram os dados obtidos pela aplicação do INSAT 2010 (Inquérito Saúde e Trabalho), permitindo uma análise mais compreensiva. Os resultados obtidos correspondem a uma amostra de 58 trabalhadores do território Porto-Gaia. Neste estudo identificou-se exigências e constrangimentos a nível do ambiente físico, organização e ritmo de trabalho e como estes afetam e condicionam a saúde e bem-estar dos trabalhadores.

The present study aims to feature the working conditions and the effects on the health and welfare of workers of the childhood and youth of the Social Development Unit of the district center of Porto. Thus, anchored in ergonomic psychology approach, we tried to identify the requirements and constraints of work in this sector of activity and the effects on the health and welfare of workers. The study included verbalizations of participants and observations of the real context of work, which enriched the data obtained by the application of INSAT 2010 (Survey health and work), enabling a more comprehensive analysis. The results correspond to a sample of 58 workers from the territory Porto-Gaia. This study identified requirements and constraints at the level of the physical environment, organization and work rate and how these affect and influence the health and well-being of workers.
