This current report concludes the PES “Supervised Teaching Practice” held in Salesians de Manique School, as part of the Masters in Religious Sciences. It focuses on the Salesian Institution and on the Educational System inherited from its founder, Dom Bosco, whose aim was to form “good Christians and honest citizens”. His objective was “to save souls for God” as well as to help regenerate the society in which he lived. Through his “Preventive System”, we can summarize your educational pedagogy, with just a simple statement:” Education is a matter of Feelings”3. Such words, uttered in the 21st century, are worth reflecting upon. How to educate and instruct today’s youth, who will be the adults of tomorrow? Which theories and thoughts should we adopt, in this global society, which is becoming more and more technological, pluralist and multicultural on one hand, but full of selfishness, indifference, intolerance, disorder, and understanding, on the other? Since the 19th century, great developments in science and technology have occurred. However, can we say the same as far as human relations are concerned? The school subject of EMRC – Moral Religious Catholic Education, fits the moral values of D. Bosco’s principles. Through its teaching syllabus, they offer a valid and important contribution to the Comprehensive Learning Process of the students. During the teaching and educating process, The EMRC principles transmit the values of the Gospel, actively and positively participating in the mission of the teaching community. Through the Christians perspective, these principles work on the human abilities and skills of each student; through the spiritual dimension, they develop the intelligence and creativity. They also help them to be more critical and reflexive about the basic and real social issues of our century.
