In the 21st century, many projects were created involving ancient industrial plants.
These plants were often 'reborn' into a new life, thanks to strong trends to rediscover the
past, a desire to avoid dismantlement or abandonment and government action. In this
dissertation, we study how an ancient plant can be reused and transformed with a new
business idea being developed inside the complex.
The objective of this paper is to develop the business idea in its complexity and to
analyse the feasibility and eventual future profitability of the enterprise. The project is
presented in the form of a case study, in which several options are introduced to the
reader to be evaluated by their weaknesses and strengths. Each option is then weighted
against each other option in order to stimulate the student and entrepreneur decisions,
informed by the available data.
The conclusion shows that there is a possibility of profitability for the firm. The initial
investment, however, requires a significant amount of funding. Therefore, careful
planning is suggested.
