Abstract(s)
validade convergente com outras escalas (Partner Scale e Nomophobia Questionnaire);
A versão portuguesa
asseguram a validade convergente.
Throughout life, the human being developed and built different interpersonal relationships in different contexts, since it deals with a being who is always searching for ways to become socially active, and for a sense of belongness. There are several authors who have been developing instruments to evaluate Phubbing, which concerns the fact that a person uses the cell phone during a real interaction with friends/ family/ romantic partner. This study aims to: (1) Adapt the Phubbing Scale (PS) to the Portuguese population; (2) Establish convergent and divergent validity with other scales (Partner Scale e Nomophobia Questionnaire); (3) Establish differences and/or relationships between sociodemographic variables and variables related to the time of cell phone use and Phubbing. The Portuguese version of the Phubbing Scale kept the number of items and factors, however, distributed differently from the original version. About the correlations, they were defined by the scale with other instruments that ensure convergent validity. Statistically significant differences were found in the Phubbing Scale related to sociodemographic variables (gender, professional status, having children and age) and to some variables related to cell phone use (minutes of cell phone use per day).
