O presente relatório foi realizado no âmbito da Unidade Curricular Projeto Final do Mestrado em Som e Imagem na especialização em Animação por Computador. Este tem como objetivo descrever o processo de trabalho, prático e teórico, da realização da curta-metragem Sadness Comes in Waves. Este relatório é composto por quatro partes: 1. Introdução - nesta parte introdutória são abordados, em primeiro lugar, os objetivos do projeto e as motivações da autora para a realização do mesmo. De seguida, algumas informações gerais do projeto, mais especificamente, a sinopse e descrição de personagens. Por fim é também apresentada a equipa que trabalhou no projeto e o papel de cada membro. 2. Abordagem e tratamento - aqui são apresentadas as diversas referências e inspirações para a realização da curta-metragem, assim como a metodologia utilizada e o cronograma com as diferentes fases do projeto devidamente organizadas. 3. Historial da produção - aqui é descrito de forma detalhada o trabalho realizado nas fases de pré-produção, produção e pós-produção do projeto, realizado no ano letivo 2022/2023. 4. Reflexão crítica - é a parte final deste relatório onde são comparados os resultados obtidos com os objetivos propostos. É também feita uma reflexão sobre a aprendizagem que este projeto proporcionou, as dificuldades encontradas pelo caminho e as soluções encontradas para as contornar. Em suma, ao longo deste relatório será apresentada toda a informação relacionada com o processo de criação da curta-metragem Sadness Comes in Waves. As inspirações, as escolhas artísticas, as dúvidas e certezas em cada etapa da transformação de uma ideia ambiciosa, mas embrionária, numa obra complexa acabada.
This report was developed as part of the Final Project Curricular Unit of the master’s degree in Sound and Image, specializing in Computer Animation. It aims to describe the practical and theoretical work process involved in making the short film Sadness Comes in Waves. This report consists of four parts: 1. introduction - this introductory part first addresses the project's objectives and the author's motivations for carrying it out. This is followed by some general information about the project, specifically the synopsis and description of the characters. Finally, the team that worked on the project and the role of each member are described. 2. Approach and treatment - here the various references and inspirations for making the short film are presented, as well as the methodology used and the schedule with the different phases of the project duly organized. 3. Production history - this describes in detail the work carried out in the pre-production, production and post-production phases of the project, which took place in the 2022/2023 academic year. 4. Critical reflection - this is the final part of the report where the results obtained are compared with the proposed objectives. It also reflects on the new knowledge that this project has provided, the difficulties encountered along the way and the solutions found to overcome them. In short, this report presents all the information related to the process of creating the short film Sadness Comes in Waves. The inspirations, the artistic choices, the doubts and certainties at each stage of the transformation of an ambitious but embryonic idea into a complex finished work.
