Abstract(s)
Este Relatório de Atividade Clínica visa fazer, numa primeira parte, uma
abordagem epidemiológica de todos ao atos realizados pelo binómio 5, durante
o 5º ano do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Dentária, na Universidade Católica
Portuguesa – Polo de Viseu. Numa segunda parte, serão apresentados três
casos clínicos diferenciados: o primeiro no âmbito das áreas de Medicina
Oral/Cirurgia Oral, o segundo insere-se na área da Periodontologia e, por fim, o
terceiro relativo à Endodontia articulada com a Cirurgia Oral. Inicialmente, será
feita uma introdução teórica, seguida da descrição do caso clínico e, por último,
discussões e conclusões.
A área da Medicina Dentária é considerada multidisciplinar pois envolve
um conjunto de diferentes áreas, que estão articuladas entre si. Isto é, a Cirurgia
Oral, a Dentisteria Operatória, a Endodontia, a Medicina Oral, a Oclusão, a
Ortodontia, a Periodontologia, a Prostodontia Fixa e a Prostodontia Removível,
complementam-se. Na Universidade, a prática clínica, que domina os últimos
dois semestres, baseia-se numa abordagem multidisciplinar, na qual são
aplicados os conhecimentos teóricos apreendidos durante o percurso
académico.
Sumariamente, serão apresentados dados estatísticos da prática clínica
e três casos clínicos diferenciados.
The aim of this report is firstly to make an epidemiologic approach of all the acts performed by group 5, during the 5th year of the Masters in Dentistry, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa– Viseu. Secondly, three different clinical cases will be described: the first one related to Oral Medicine/Oral Surgery, the second one is regarding to Periodontology and the third one combines Endodontics with Oral Surgery. First, a theoretical introduction will be made, followed by a description of the clinical case and, lastly, discussions and conclusions will be presented. Dentistry is a multidisciplinary area since it involves a set of different subspecialties, which are linked between themselves. Thus, Oral Surgery, Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Medicine, Occlusion, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Fixed Prosthodontics and Removable Prosthodontics complete one another. At the University, clinical practise performed on the last two semesters is based on a multidisciplinary approach, in which the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the academical path is applied. In conclusion, statistical data regarding clinical practice along with three clinical cases will be described.
