Na atualidade, as alterações demográficas e sociais têm vindo a demonstrar a importância do contato entre gerações, que se assume como uma das estratégias para a promoção da solidariedade intergeracional. Nesta dissertação estuda-se as implicações das atividades intergeracionais como beneficio cognitivo experimentado por idosos que integram um centro de dia onde foram desenvolvidas atividades entre crianças e idosos. Com este objetivo, aplicaram-se, questionário sociodemográfico, Mini-Mental adaptado para a população portuguesa por Guerreiro e cols (1993), Escala de Depressão Geriátrica, versão portuguesa de Cardoso e Martin (2007), Questionário de Atividades Intergeracionais adaptado de Dellmann-Jenkins (1997). A amostra compreende 24 idosos, com uma média de idades de 78 anos. Os resultados sugerem que os idosos da amostra demostram os benefícios cognitivos depois de terem participado em atividades intergeracionais com crianças. Em resposta a esta questão é pertinente a implementação de atividades intergeracionais entre idosos e crianças
Nowadays, the demographic and social changes has shown the importance of contact between generations, which is assumed as a strategy for promoting intergenerational solidarity. This thesis examines the implications of intergenerational activities as cognitive benefit experienced by seniors who make up a day center where activities were developed between children and the elderly. With this aim, we applied, sociodemographic questionnaire, Mini-Mental adapted for the Portuguese population by Guerrero et al (1993), Geriatric Depression Scale, the English version of Cardoso and Martin (2007), Intergenerational Activities Questionnaire adapted from Dellmann-Jenkins (1997). The sample comprises 24 elderly with a median age of 78 years. The results suggest that seniors sample documents showing the cognitive benefits after participating in intergenerational activities with children. In answer to this question it’s relevant to implement intergenerational activities between children and seniors.
