| dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores opportunities to innovate the business model of peer-to-peer (P2P) investment platforms through the application of blockchain technology, particularly concentrating on markets of developing countries. The primary objective is to identify and propose innovations to business models that not only generate profit but also create social value and support the economic development of these regions. A methodology incorporates both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with stakeholders in the form of potential international investors and Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Also, it addresses the analysis of the market landscape and identification of the generalised state-of-theart business model. Key findings lead to perceiving businesses seeking capital as the only customers while placing investors in the role of suppliers of capital resources. Also, research concludes that the needs of both categories can be satisfied by the same group of services: monitoring, audit, capacity-building and secondary market - while all these services can benefit from the transparent, trustless and efficient nature of blockchain. The feasibility analysis suggests that despite a competitive landscape, the proposed business model presents a viable opportunity for further development. However, it also proposes possible further developments of research, which would add to the understanding of the topic. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Esta tese explora oportunidades para inovar o modelo de negócio das plataformas de investimento peer-to-peer (P2P) através da aplicação da tecnologia blockchain, com particular foco nos mercados de países em desenvolvimento. O objetivo principal é identificar e propor inovações nos modelos de negócio que não apenas gerem lucro, mas também criem valor social e apoiem o desenvolvimento económico dessas regiões. A metodologia incorpora tanto inquéritos quantitativos como entrevistas qualitativas com stakeholders, na forma de potenciais investidores internacionais e empreendedores ucranianos. Além disso, aborda a análise do panorama de mercado e a identificação do modelo de negócio generalizado de referência. As principais conclusões indicam que as empresas à procura de capital são vistas como os únicos clientes, enquanto colocam os investidores no papel de fornecedores de recursos financeiros. A pesquisa também conclui que as necessidades de ambas as categorias podem ser satisfeitas pelo mesmo grupo de serviços: monitorização, auditoria, desenvolvimento de capacidades e mercado secundário - sendo que todos estes serviços podem beneficiar da natureza transparente, eficiente e sem confiança do blockchain. A análise de viabilidade sugere que, apesar de um cenário competitivo, o modelo de negócio proposto representa uma oportunidade viável para desenvolvimento futuro. No entanto, também propõe possíveis desenvolvimentos adicionais de investigação, que contribuiriam para uma compreensão mais aprofundada do tema. | pt_PT |
