Competências especializadas em enfermagem de saúde infantil e pediátrica : o caminho para a excelência no cuidado

O presente documento surge no âmbito da unidade curricular “Estágio Final e Relatório”, integrada no ciclo de estudos do XVIII Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem, com especialização em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica, da Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto, constituindo um reflexo de todo o percurso formativo desenvolvido para a aquisição de competências de mestre em enfermagem e de enfermeiro especialista. O contexto prático deste percurso decorreu em dois cenários distintos: um Serviço de Internamento Pediátrico e, em contexto de Cuidados de Saúde Primários, numa Unidade de Cuidados na Comunidade e numa Unidade de Saúde Familiar. O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado com base numa metodologia crítico reflexiva, alicerçada na aprendizagem concretizada e nas experiências vividas ao longo do estágio, sempre sustentada na evidência científica mais atual. A sua fundamentação encontra-se estruturada de acordo com as competências definidas no plano de estudos do curso, organizadas nos domínios da prestação de cuidados, da gestão dos cuidados, da investigação em enfermagem e da formação em enfermagem. No seu desenvolvimento, são evidenciados os objetivos e as atividades realizadas ao longo deste percurso, com vista à aquisição das competências preconizadas e à consolidação de um perfil profissional de excelência e de uma prática de enfermagem avançada, o domínio da prestação de cuidados assumiu-se como um dos eixos centrais deste percurso, tendo os modelos de Parceria de Cuidados e dos Cuidados Centrados na Família constituído referências basilares na prática clínica. Paralelamente, o domínio da formação revelou-se essencial para promover o autodesenvolvimento e o crescimento dos pares. Já a vertente da gestão, embora desafiante, foi fundamental para compreender o papel do enfermeiro especialista na gestão dos cuidados e na garantia da qualidade. Destaca-se ainda a investigação desenvolvida sobre o papel da simulação clínica na capacitação dos pais e cuidadores de crianças com necessidades de saúde complexas, processo fundamental para o desenvolvimento de competências na área da investigação e para a obtenção do grau de mestre.
This document was developed within the framework of the "Final Internship and Report" curricular unit, integrated into the cycle of studies of the 18th Master’s Degree Programme in Nursing, specialising in Paediatric and Child Health Nursing at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto). It reflects the comprehensive educational and training pathway undertaken for the acquisition of both a master’s degree in nursing and the professional title of specialist nurse. The clinical practice component of this pathway took place across two distinct settings: a Paediatric Inpatient Department and, within the primary healthcare sector, a Community Care Unit and a Family Health Unit. This internship report was formulated using a critical-reflective methodology, anchored in the learning achieved and the clinical experiences gained throughout the placement, consistently sustained by the most current scientific evidence. Its theoretical and practical foundation is structured in accordance with the competencies defined in the course curriculum, which are organized into the core domains of care delivery, care management, nursing research, and nursing education. Throughout its development, the objectives and activities carried out during this pathway are highlighted, aiming at the acquisition of the recommended competencies and the consolidation of an excellent professional profile alongside advanced nursing practice. The domain of care delivery emerged as one of the central pillars of this journey, with the Casey’s Model of Nursing and the Family-Centered Care Model serving as foundational frameworks in clinical practice. Concurrently, the domain of education proved essential in promoting self-development and the growth of peers. The management component, although challenging, was fundamental to understand the role of the specialist nurse in care management and quality assurance. Furthermore, this report highlights the research conducted on the role of clinical simulation in empowering parents and caregivers of children with complex health needs. A fundamental process for developing research skills and achieving the degree of Master in Nursing.
