Privileging the theme of return, the Odyssey endorses the landscape a fundamental relevance in terms of expression. The exile of Ulysses, who remained absent when all the Greek survivors had already returned, and unknown even in his homeland, will justify the narrative singularity of the work that is articulated in two specular sections. Amidst the work there exist, multiplied within dual structures, spatial references regarding both real and historic spaces, or fantastic and mythical landscapes, where the hero’s itinerancy stages and projects into the individual history of each man a peculiar symbology. Upon these symbolic exile’s landscapes we shall draw our own thoughts and developments.pt_PT
