The data collection was performed through the application of questionnaires to the elderly and intra-oral observation. Then a descriptive inferential statistic of the obtained data was carried out. Results: About 57,8% of the elderly brush their teeth only 1x/day, and a higher proportion of the sample don’t use dental floss. 56,2% didn’t visit a dentist in the last year, 10 years ago was the last time that most of the institutionalized visited. Higher scores of DMFT was obtained in elderly with lower education. Elderly who live in urban areas have OHIP- 14 higher. Conclusions: Therefore, is important to sensitize and promote oral health actions in the elderly community about oral health care and the necessity to visit regularly the dentist.
