This work was developed within the 5th year of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Dental Medicine at the Catholic University of Portugal – Viseu and aims to provide a reflection on the clinical training pathway through the development of a Digital Portfolio, as well as to present a clinical case in the field of oral surgery. The portfolio serves as a structured tool for recording and analysing clinical activity, enabling the progressive consolidation of technical-scientific, communication, and teamwork skills acquired in a supervised clinical environment. Patient interaction and continuous academic supervision proved essential for the development of clinical autonomy and for the integration of theoretical knowledge into daily practice. In the field of oral surgery, a clinical case involving the surgical management of an impacted lower third molar associated with carious pathology in the adjacent tooth is presented. The procedure was performed using an open surgical technique, and the postoperative course as well as the management of a local complication were also discussed. This case highlights the importance of thorough preoperative assessment, appropriate surgical planning, and postoperative follow-up in achieving a successful clinical outcome.
