A presente dissertação, resulta de um projeto de colaboração desenvolvido entre a Universidade Católica do Porto e o Clube Infante de Sagres. O estudo incidiu sobre a viabilidade de um projeto de investimento, particularmente, a realização de obras de reabilitação das infraestruturas desportivas do clube.
Existindo na literatura alguns modelos de avaliação, optou-se neste projeto por proceder ao estudo a partir de uma Análise Custo-Benefício. Este tipo de análise avalia todos os custos e todos os benefícios, financeiros e económicos, em dois momentos: a análise financeira, ou privada, e a análise económica, ou social.
O estudo teve como objetivo identificar todos os custos e os benefícios relativos à implementação do projeto de investimento. Para além disso, são apresentadas algumas fontes de financiamento possíveis para o projeto, uma vez que este terá de se financiar junto de terceiros.
Na conclusão, foi incluída uma análise crítica acerca da viabilidade do projeto de reabilitação das infraestruturas do Infante de Sagres. Do ponto de vista da análise privada, o projeto em estudo não é viável, no entanto, identifica-se uma hipótese que permitiria apresentar um valor do VAL positivo. Essa hipótese, assume o pressuposto de um aumento de cerca de 16 atletas por ano. Pela ótica social, as obras de reabilitação das infraestruturas do Infante de Sagres são viáveis para o primeiro período em análise (2015-2018), mas já não o são para o segundo período (2019-2027). Contudo, tendo em conta os treze anos do período analisado, o projeto é socialmente viável.
This work is the result of a partnership between Universidade Católica do Porto and Clube Infante de Sagres. The study focuses on the viability of an investment project, particularly, the execution of construction work for the rehabilitation of the club’s facilities. Existing on the literature some valuation models, it was decided to proceed to the study from a Cost-Benefit Analysis. This type of analysis evaluates every costs and benefits, financial and economic, in two different analysis moments: the financial or private analysis and the economic or social analysis. This study had the objectives of identifying every cost and benefit according to the execution of the investment project. Furthermore, some possible financing sources will be presented, since the club will have to finance this project through external funding. In the conclusion, it was included a critical analysis on the feasibility of the rehabilitation project of Infante de Sagres’ infrastructures. From the point of view of the private analysis, the project under study is not feasible, however, a hypothesis is identified such that it would allow to present a positive VAL. This hypothesis assumes the assumption of an increase of about 16 athletes per year. From the social point of view, the rehabilitation works of the infrastructures of the Infante de Sagres are viable for the first period under review (2015-2018) but are no longer for the second period (2019-2027). However, given the thirteen years of the period analyzed, the project is socially feasible.
