dc.description.abstractSchools play a decisive role in the integral development of students and in shaping their social relationships with others, groups, and communities. However, this influence is not always sufficient to protect them from violence or to prevent violent responses to conflicts. To enhance the contribution of education to a more peaceful and respectful society, it is crucial to invest in teacher training that promotes a transformative style of peace education. Such training fosters safe and trustworthy environments, where students learn to avoid violence and embrace cooperation. Considering the organizational complexity of schools and their diverse goals, this approach requires a planned and reflective commitment to building a culture of peace. Key aspects include the prevention of indiscipline, ensuring safety, optimizing academic learning conditions, and cultivating healthy and collaborative classrooms where students’ cultural backgrounds are recognized and valued. Education for cooperation thus emerges as a fundamental tool to prevent violence, strengthen interpersonal understanding, and integrate peace education with the development of high-level academic and social skills.eng
