Abstract(s)
O ensino de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) tem assumido crescente importância em Macau, devido à relevância do idioma como língua oficial e à sua conexão histórica e cultural com a região. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste relatório é investigar a aplicabilidade e as potencialidades e da abordagem do ensino de línguas baseado em tarefas (ELBT) no ensino de PLNM em Macau. A abordagem do ensino baseado em tarefas é caracterizada pela ênfase na aprendizagem por meio de atividades práticas e significativas, nas quais os alunos são desafiados a realizar tarefas autênticas que refletem situações da vida real. Esta pesquisa busca examinar como o ELBT pode ser adaptado e implementado no ensino de PLNM em Macau, levando em consideração os desafios e características linguístico-culturais presentes na região. O foco na forma de aplicar o ELBT também foi investigado. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que o ensino baseado em tarefas tem potencialidades significativas para o ensino de PLNM em Macau. Os alunos demonstraram maior motivação e participação nas aulas, além de uma melhoria nas competências comunicativas e também gramaticais em português. No entanto, foram identificados alguns desafios, como a falta da imersão contínua na língua-alvo fora do contexto escolar e a ausência de adaptação dos materiais didáticos. Em resumo, este estudo contribui para a compreensão da potencialidade e aplicabilidade do ensino baseado em tarefas no ensino de PLNM em Macau. Os resultados obtidos fornecem insights valiosos para educadores, formuladores de políticas educacionais e investigadores interessados em melhorar o ensino de PLNM em contextos multilíngues e multiculturais.
The teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL) has become increasingly important in Macau, due to the language's relevance as an official language and its historical and cultural connection to the region. With these considerations in mind, the aim of this report is to investigate the applicability and potential of the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) approach to teaching PLNM in Macau. The task-based teaching approach is characterized by its emphasis on learning through meaningful, hands-on activities in which students are challenged to perform authentic tasks that reflect real-life situations. This research seeks to examine how ELBT can be adapted and implemented in the teaching of PLNM in Macau, taking into account the challenges and linguistic-cultural characteristics present in the region. The focus on form when applying ELBT was also investigated. The results of the research indicate that task-based teaching has significant potential for the teaching of PLNM in Macau. Students showed greater motivation and participation in class, as well as improved communicative and grammatical skills in Portuguese. However, some challenges were identified, such as the lack of continuous immersion in the target language outside the school context and the absence of adapted teaching materials. In summary, this study contributes to the understanding of the potential and applicability of task-based teaching in the teaching of PLNM in Macau. The results obtained provide valuable insights for educators, educational policy makers and researchers interested in improving the teaching of PLNM in multilingual and multicultural contexts.
