Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender a representação de Portugal a partir do olhar sul-coreano, através do estudo de publicações identificadas com o hashtag #포르투갈 (poreutugal) 1 no Instagram, publicadas entre julho de 2022 e julho de 2023. Adicionalmente, pretendemos focar-nos na temática da representação visual no contexto do Instagram, como ferramenta auxiliar e cada vez mais fundamental na experiência turística. A análise visual das publicações é a base desta pesquisa para descobrir se existe um padrão comum representativo de Portugal no público sul-coreano. A metodologia adotada para este trabalho partirá do método misto de investigação que combina métodos qualitativos e métodos quantitativos de recolha e análise de dados. Esta abordagem tem o intuito de aprofundar a investigação de 614 publicações feitas no Instagram identificadas com o hashtag #포르투갈(poreutugal). Na nossa pesquisa, apesar da variada representação de Portugal feita pelo turista sul-coreano encontramos linhas representativas que parecem ser consistentes do país, sociedade e cultura portuguesas. O espetro coberto pelas imagens publicadas pelo público sul-coreano indica diversos elementos que representam uma sociedade ainda muito influenciada pela tradição, fortemente ligada a práticas de ócio, muitas vezes em relação com uma faixa etária envelhecida da população, e a um ritmo lento e prazeroso, associado à paleta de cor azul.
This research aims to understand the representation of Portugal from the South Korean perspective through the study of posts identified with the hashtag #포르투갈 (poreutugal) on Instagram, published between July 2022 and July 2023. Additionally, we intend to focus on the theme of visual representation in the context of Instagram, as an increasingly fundamental tool in the tourist experience. The visual analysis of these posts forms the basis of this research to uncover if there is a common representative pattern of Portugal among the South Korean audience. The methodology adopted for this work will follow the mixed research method that combines qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection and analysis. This approach aims to delve into the investigation of 614 Instagram posts identified with the hashtag #포르투갈 (poreutugal). In our research, despite the varied representation of Portugal by South Korean tourists, we found common representative elements of the Portuguese country, society, and culture. The spectrum covered by the images published by the South Korean public indicates various elements that represent a society still heavily influenced by tradition, strongly connected to leisure practices, often related to an aging demographic, and a slow and pleasurable pace, associated with a blue color palette.
