Este estudo analisou as diferenças ao nível dos diferentes tipos de abuso, depressão,
ansiedade, consumo de álcool e suporte social entre mulheres vítimas e não vítimas de
violência conjugal; a relação das variáveis em estudo; os preditores da depressão, da
ansiedade e do consumo de álcool, e se o suporte social apresentou um papel moderador
na relação entre a violência e a morbilidade psicológica e o consumo de álcool numa
amostra de 209 mulheres vítimas e não vítimas de violência conjugal. Os resultados
obtidos indicam que as mulheres vítimas de violência apresentam maiores níveis de
depressão, ansiedade, maior consumo de álcool e menor suporte social, e maiores índices
de abuso do que as não vítimas. Verificou-se ainda que existe uma relação positiva e
estatisticamente significativa entre os diferentes tipos de abuso e a depressão, ansiedade
e consumo de álcool, e uma relação negativa e estatisticamente significativa entre o
suporte social e os diferentes tipos de abuso, a depressão, a ansiedade e o consumo de
álcool. A agressão psicológica e menor suporte social foram preditores do consumo de
álcool. Os preditores da depressão e da ansiedade foram a agressão psicológica, o abuso
físico com sequelas, o consumo de álcool e menor suporte social. O suporte social foi
moderador da relação entre os diferentes tipos de abuso e a depressão e ansiedade.
Assim, é importante intervir nesta população ao nível da morbilidade psicológica e
consumo de álcool mas também ao nível do suporte social para promover os recursos
psicossociais.

Social support moderated the relationship between different types of abuse and depression and anxiety. Thus, it is important to intervene in this population in terms of psychological morbidity and alcohol consumption, but also at the level of social support to promote psychosocial resources.
