O presente projeto de investigação pretende explorar o potencial da Animação UI como ferramenta do Design UX com o objetivo de otimizar a experiência do utilizador. Neste âmbito, pretendemos analisar a questão de investigação: “como aplicar a Animação de forma eficaz em websites sem comprometer a sua usabilidade?”, através da criação de um website que utiliza Animação UI como elemento central da experiência. Estabeleceu-se o enquadramento teórico através da pequisa literária sobre os conceitos das disciplinas do Design de Experiência do Utilizador, Design de Interface e Animação de Design de Interface do utilizador, de forma a fundamentar a componente prática do projeto. Considerando as suas complexidades técnicas, a finalidade principal é a conciliação das normas e diretrizes regidas pelas disciplinas para a conceção de um website animado. Através de uma abordagem interativa, demonstrativa e informativa pretendemos demonstrar como a Animação UI pode ser utilizada estrategicamente para influenciar a navegação do utilizador, melhorar a usabilidade e criar experiências envolventes. O website “Make your website move” assume uma natureza multidisciplinar, permitindo a contribuição para área do Design web e da Animação UI. A corporização desta premissa resultou no desenvolvimento de um website que demonstra ao utilizador os conceitos e benefícios da Animação UI, através de conteúdo de texto e animações. O website baseia-se numa temática de storytelling, onde o utilizador percorre uma jornada pelo website que se inicia no ponto mais distante do planeta e termina no centro da terra, explorando os ambientes “espaço”, “terra”, “sub-solo” e “núcleo”. A complexidade dos conceitos são apresentados de forma progressiva conforme o nível da profundidade da navegação do utilizador.
This research project aims to explore the potential of UI Animation as a UX Design tool with the goal of optimising the user experience. In this context, we intend to analyse the research question: ‘How can animation be applied effectively on websites without compromising their usability?’ through the creation of a website that uses UI Animation as a central element of the experience. The theoretical framework was established through literary research on the concepts of User Experience Design, Interface Design and User Interface Design Animation, in order to support the practical component of the project. Considering its technical complexities, the main purpose is to reconcile the standards and guidelines governed by the disciplines for the design of an animated website. Through an interactive, demonstrative and informative approach, we aim to demonstrate how UI Animation can be used strategically to influence user navigation, improve usability and create engaging experiences. The website ‘Make your website move’ is multidisciplinary in nature, allowing for contributions to the areas of Web Design and UI Animation. The embodiment of this premise resulted in the development of a website that demonstrates the concepts and benefits of UI Animation to the user through text content and animations. The website is based on a storytelling theme, where the user travels on a journey through the website that begins at the furthest point on the planet and ends at the centre of the earth, exploring the environments ‘space’, ‘earth’, “subsoil” and ‘core’. The complexity of the concepts is presented progressively according to the depth of the user's navigation.
