Abstract(s)

The following study is an in-depth analysis into how entertainment formats are adapted and localized into global territories. Using an extensive research and by approaching the study using a qualitative method made up of interviews, it discuses a variety of issues from its role in television markets abroad to the global agents involved in the process of adaptation. In an increased globalized world, entertainment formats play a prominent role in showcasing how they can adapt according to a particular country’s cultural norms, allowing for its national identity. It identifies the challenges that emerge during the process of adaptation and localization but also outline the format industry’s significance in the television industry today.
