Henri-Irénée Marrou (1904-1977) foi um historiador que, a par com a investigação histórica, desenvolveu a elaboração de um pensamento teológico sobre a própria História, com grande influência agostiniana. A reflexão teológica sobre a História encontra-se especialmente na obra Teologia da História, onde, por sua vez, surgem elementos para refletir o tema da predestinação. No presente
que se desenvolve (1.ª parte); em seguida, ilustra-se o que Marrou refere a propósito da temática da predestinação (2.ª parte); finalmente, lançam-se as bases em vista de uma teologia da liberdade, na construção histórica sob o sinal da pertença e da vivência cristã (3.ª parte).
Henri-Irénée Marrou (1904-1977) was a historian who along with historical research developed a theological thinking about History itself, with great Augustinian influence. Theological reflection on History is present especially in Theology of History, where elements appear to reflect the theme of predestination. In the present article, this work is framed in the theological context in which it is developed (1st part); next, it is illustrated what Marrou refers on the subject of the predestination (2nd part); finally, lay the foundations for a theology of freedom, in the historical construction under the sign of belonging and Christian living (3rd part).
