The first chapter outlines Guardini’s philosophy of contrasts (Gegensätze), presenting polarity as a tensional dialectic that encompasses the complexity of the concrete-living. The second chapter delves into the author’s anthropology, drawing from the works Welt und Person (1939) and Freiheit, Gnade, Schicksal (1948), emphasizing the polar character of the human person. Finally, in the third chapter, Guardini’s Christology is analyzed, examining episodes from Der Herr (1937), including the temptations in the desert, the proclamation of the Beatitudes, and the Passion, culminating in the concept of the “new man” grafted onto Christ. It concludes that the mystery of Man is clarified only through the Incarnate Word, the paradigm of full humanity, which enables us to overcome fragmented and distorted views of the person.
