Abstract(s)
Este trabalho de investigação tem como principal objetivo identificar as dificuldades
de produção de um filme de longa-metragem, demonstrando, através da experiência de
dois realizadores, como foi a sua estreia no universo cinematográfico de longa-metragens,
e quais foram os principais obstáculos e barreiras identificadas para a realização das suas
primeiras longas-metragens.
Para tal, e como complementação aos questionários respondidos pelos dois
profissionais do cinema, será traçado um paralelo entre os mercados cinematográficos
brasileiro e português, o início de cada um, os avanços em termos de produção, bem como
a definição de um público consumidor do produto cultural aqui retratado: filmes. Além
disso, será abordada uma questão bastante importante na produção de uma obra fílmica,
que é o financiamento. É de senso comum que existem polos de produção de filmes no
mundo que tratam esta reconhecida forma de entretenimento – o cinema –, como uma
indústria. Mas é também do mesmo senso que, salvo os filmes produzidos e realizados
através desta indústria, os demais realizadores e produtores necessitam de procurar
financiamento de diversas formas, sendo as mais comuns, aquelas que são subsidiadas
pelos governos, por via de concursos públicos de incentivo à produção cinematográfica.
O estudo vai utilizar a experiência de dois realizadores, um brasileiro e um
português, para identificar as dificuldades globais encontradas na produção do primeiro
filme de cada um deles e quais foram as aprendizagens adquiridas neste caminho, para que
realizassem o segundo filme e tenham conseguido estabelecer-se como profissionais do
cinema sem ter estudado formalmente para tal profissão, que, por muitos, é considerada
arte.
The dissertation’s object of study is identify the difficulties of production of a feature-length film, demonstrating, through the experience of two filmmakers, how was your debut in the universe of cinematographic feature films, and what were the main obstacles and barriers identified for the achievement of their first feature films. To this end, and as a complement to the questionnaires answered by two professionals of cinema, will be a parallel between the Brazilian and Portuguese film markets, the beginning of each, the advances in terms of production, as well as the definition of a consumers of cultural product pictured here: movies. In addition, will be addressed a question very important in the production of a film work, which is the funding. It is common sense that there are poles of production of films in the world dealing with this recognized form of entertainment – cinema – as an industry. But it is also in the same sense that, unless the films produced and carried out through this industry, other directors and producers need to find funding in various forms, the most common being, those that are funded by Governments, by of public procurement to stimulate film production. The study will use the experience of two filmmakers, a Brazilian and a Portuguese, to identify global difficulties found in the production of the first film of each of them and what were the learning acquired in this way, so that perform the second movie and were able to establish themselves as professionals in the cinema without having studied formally for this profession, which, for many, is considered art.
