Os estudantes cabo-verdianos e a perspetiva de voltar ao país de origem

| dc.description.abstract | A presente investigação tem como objetivo principal, analisar a perspetiva dos estudantes cabo-verdianos a estudar em Portugal e fazer a correlação com a perspetiva de voltarem ao país de origem. Em termos metodológicos, trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo e correlacional, cujos dados foram recolhidos através de um questionário de administração direta: questionário de Avaliação dos Estudantes Cabo-verdianos em Portugal, criado de origem pela investigadora. O questionário é constituído por cinco dimensões: Relação com a Instituição, Perspetiva de Carreira, Perspetiva de Voltar ao País de Origem, Perceção Pessoal e Competência Cognitiva e Adaptação ao Curso. As características psicométricas são aceitáveis (valores de alfa de Cronbach de.61,82, .64 e de .52 respetivamente), sendo a alfa de Cronbach total é .71. Os resultados obtidos numa amostra de 60 estudantes cabo-verdianos residentes em Braga, indicam-nos que a dimensão que apresenta scores mais elevado é a perspetiva de voltar ao país de origem e o mais baixo é a adaptação ao curso. Para além disso, verificamos que quanto mais elevada a Relação com a Instituição maior a Perspetiva de Carreira, quanto mais elevada a Perceção de Competência mais elevada a Relação com Instituição com a Perspetiva de Carreira e com a Perspetiva de voltar ao País de Origem. Constatamos ainda variação dos resultados em função da Opção do Curso, do próprio Curso e o Ano que Frequentam, principalmente nas dimensões Relação com a Instituição, Perspetiva de Carreira, Perspetiva de Voltar ao País de Origem e Perceção de Competências Cognitivas. Não foi encontrada variação dos resultados em função do Género e Número de Matrículas. Apesar das limitações desta investigação, essencialmente no que concerne à dimensão da amostra e caráter metodológico da mesma, consideramos ter cumprido os objetivos que nos propusemos, sendo esta uma investigação pioneira nesta área. Sugerese uma revisão do instrumento de avaliação validado, de forma a obtermos dados mais concisos, com amostras mais elevadas, bem como um aprofundamento da temática. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This research aims to examine Cape Verdeans students perspective’s that residing in Portugal and make a correlation with the prospect of returning to their country of origin. In methodological terms, it is a quantitative, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study, whose data were collected through a questionnaire rating Cape Verdean Students in Portugal - UCP- BRAGA, created by the administrator and administered to students . The questionnaire consists of five dimensions: Relationship to the Institution, Career Perspective, and Perspective to return to country of origin, Personal and Perceived Competence and Cognitive Adaptation to Travel. The psychometric characteristics are reasonable, with values of Cronbach's alpha, respectively, of .61, .82, .64, .56 and .52. The sample consisted of 60 students Cape Verdeans residing in the district of Braga. The results indicate that the dimension that has higher scores is the prospect of returning to the country of origin and the lowest is the adaptation to the course. Furthermore, we found that the higher the relationship with the institution to greater career prospect and the higher the perception of higher cognitive skills the relationship with the institution, the prospect of career and the prospect of returning to the country of origin. We also found varying results depending on the course option, the course itself and the year attending, especially in dimensions compared with the institution, career prospect, prospect of returning to the country of origin of perception and cognitive skills. No variation of results was found by gender and enrollment. Despite the limitations of this research, primarily with regard to sample size and methodological character of the same, believe it met the goals we set ourselves, which is a pioneer research in this area. We suggest a review of validated assessment instrument, in order to get more accurate data, samples with higher as well as a deepening of the theme. | pt_PT |
