O consumo de pornografia é uma realidade crescente no panorama global. A frequência de visualização de pornografia online acarreta uma diversidade de problemas no funcionamento psicossocial e sexual dos consumidores . O presente estudo tem como objetivo compreender a relação entre a frequência de consumo de cyberpornografia com a satisfação nos relacionamentos amorosos e a satisfação sexual em adultos. Neste estudo quantitativo, participaram 268 adultos portugueses com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 70 anos (M
= 2.22, DP = 0.505) na sua maioria jovens adultos (60.1 %) de nacionalidade portuguesa (75.0%), solteiros (73.9%) e heterossexuais (88.1%) a viver com os pais (43.3%). Os participantes responderam a um questionário online de caracterização sociodemográfica, à Cyber Pornography Use Inventory9, à Global Measure of Reationship Satisfaction e à Global Measure of Sexual Satisfaction. Os resultados sugerem diferenças positivas estatisticamente significativas na frequência de visualização de pornografia em função do sexo, com pontuações superiores entre participantes do sexo masculino e, em função de estar
ou não numa relação formalizada , sendo que indivíduos solteiros apresentam níveis mais elevados de compulsividade percebida, ao passo que os casados têm níveis mais elevados de esforços de acesso e angústia emocional. Verificase
ainda que participantes que vivem com pais, familiares ou companheiros apresentam maior compulsividade percebida quando comparados com sujeitos que vivem sozinhas, com crianças ou com amigos. Por fim, os participantes ateus detêm maiores níveis de angústia emocional. Face aos resultados obtidos
importa desenvolver mais estudos que relacionem a cyberpornografia com outros construtos em diferentes camadas da população, bem como desenvolver campanhas de sensibilização que alertem para as consequências da visualização excessiva de pornografia online no funcionamento físico e psicossocial dos indivíduos.
The consumption of pornography is a growing reality in the global scenario. The frequency of viewing pornography online causes a variety of problems in psychosocial and sexual functioning of consumers. The present study aims to understand the relationship between the frequency of cyberpornography consumption with satisfaction in romantic relationships and sexual satisfaction in adults. In this quantitative study, 268 Portuguese adults aged between 18 and 70 years old (M = 2.22, SD = 0.505) participated, mostly young adults (60.1 %) of Portuguese nationality (75.0%), single (73.9%) and heterosexuals (88.1%) living with their parents (43.3%). Participants answered an online sociodemographic questionnaire, the Cyber Pornography Use Inventory9, the Global Measure of Relationship Satisfaction, and the Global Measure of Sexual Satisfaction. The results suggest statistically significant positive differences in the frequency of viewing pornography according to gender, with higher scores among male participants and, depending on whether they are in a formal relationship, with single individuals presenting higher levels of perceived compulsiveness, whereas married people have higher levels of access efforts and emotional distress. It is also verified that participants who live with parents, relatives or partners present greater perceived compulsiveness when compared to subjects who live alone, with children or with friends. Finally, atheist participants have higher levels of emotional distress. In view of the results obtained, it is important to develop more studies that relate cyberpornography with other constructs in different layers of the population, as well as to develop awareness campaigns that warn of the consequences of excessive viewing of online pornography on the physical and psychosocial functioning of individuals.
