O arquivo em suportes físicos tem perdido terreno para o arquivo digital nas estações
televisivas portuguesas e a Sport TV não é exceção. A implementação do arquivo digital
veio impactar a organização desta empresa mediática e alterar a política da constituição
do conteúdo em património do canal. A mediateca, departamento onde o arquivo se
insere, e a redação, foram as áreas mais afetadas por esta mudança. Os técnicos de
conteúdos audiovisuais, cujas atividades quotidianas passam, também, por escolher o
conteúdo que vai para arquivo desempenham, assim, um papel similar ao do gatekeeping
no jornalismo, temática aprofundada neste estudo. Os conceitos de gatekeeping e
gatewatching, desenvolvidos por comparação com o trabalho realizado na mediateca,
ligar-se-ão à temática do património do canal, uma vez que é por meio da seleção que o
conteúdo arquivado figurará na narrativa construída pelos jornalistas. Este trabalho foi
desenvolvido em consonância com o período em que, de fevereiro a agosto, integrámos
a mediateca da Sport TV, e prolongou-se até à nossa entrada na redação. Na mediateca
pudemos observar de perto as dinâmicas de trabalho daquele departamento e as relações
intra e interdepartamentais; na redação pudemos corroborar os testemunhos obtidos. Os
dados apresentados e discutidos permitiram-nos refletir algumas problemáticas
decorrentes do processo de transição estudado na área do arquivo digital em televisão.

The archive on physical media has lost ground to digital archiving on Portuguese television stations and Sport TV is no exception. The implementation of the digital archive had an impact on the organization of this media company and changed the policy of the structure of the channel's main content. The media library, the department where the archive is inserted, and the newsroom were the areas most affected by this change. Audiovisual content technicians, whose daily activities also include choosing the content to be archived, have a similar role to gatekeeping in journalism, which is the subject of this study. The concepts of gatekeeping and gatewatching, developed in comparison with the work done in the media library, will be linked to the channel heritage theme, since it is the selected content that will be on the narrative created by the journalists. This work was developed during a 7 month period, February to August, where we we joined the Sport TV media library and lasted until our entry into the newsroom. In the media library, we could closely observe the work dynamics of that department and the intra and interdepartmental relations; in the newsroom, we could corroborate the testimonies obtained. The data presented and discussed allowed us to have a reflection on some issues occurred during the process studied in the area of digital archive on television. Key words:
