The Program for the Modernization of the School Park for Secondary Education was created by the XVII Constitutional Government of Portugal for public secondary schools, with the declared objective of "overcoming Portuguese educational delay in face of European standards as a national challenge" and specifically solve The "problems of functional obsolescence, the result of the initial conditions of use and of the evolution of curricula and didactics applied", and "rehabilitating school facilities", with reference to "the new pedagogical standards and models impose, in particular, on the Design and arrangement of spaces and
equipment ". Our research intends to determine the extent to which "School modernization, carried out in secondary schools, has caused changes in the ways of teaching, learning and interacting among the elements of the educational community". Our target of study are three public schools, with secondary education, of the District of Porto. The specific objectives are: to evaluate the satisfaction with the educational spaces and to verify if the "school modernization" has generated new professional and educational practices. We present some results of the questionnaire answered by the teachers. We conclude that general satisfaction with educational spaces is not the same in all three schools. The dominant learner practice is the expository method, supported by the use of computer and technological resources. The classroom continues to be the educational space par excellence where the pedagogical activities take place. In classrooms, improvements in acoustic comfort are observed, but at thermal level and air circulation, the conditions are of great
discomfort.
