Adolescence is a critical stage of human development, marked by multiple changes and the onset of health behaviors that often persist into adulthood. Among adolescents with psychiatric disorders, this period is even more challenging, as they typically present difficulties in socioemotional skills, health literacy, and mental health literacy, key components for well-being. The program #EntreViagenseAprendizagens aims to promote well-being, healthy lifestyles, and socioemotional skills in school settings. In this mixedmethods study, the program was adapted, implemented, and evaluated in the context of the Integrated Psychiatric Unit for Adolescents (UPIA). Initially, three UPIA professionals were interviewed to identify specific needs of patients attending the UPIA Day Hospital, which were considered in the program’s adaptation. Subsequently, its impact was assessed with seven adolescents (16–20 years), using questionnaires on wellbeing, emotion regulation, anxiety and depression, mental health literacy, empathy, and lifestyle habits, administered before and after the intervention, along with a program satisfaction survey and implementation-related questions. Pre and post intervention comparisons showed statistically significant improvements in emotion regulation difficulties (total score and the subscales Strategies and Non-Acceptance). Trends toward improvement were also observed in variables such as anxiety and impulse regulation, though without reaching statistical significance. No significant differences were found in well-being, empathy, depression, or mental health literacy, although some participants showed meaningful individual changes. Regarding lifestyle habits, improvements were noted in certain eating behaviors (e.g., sweets consumption), with positive trends in physical activity and sleep. Participants reported high satisfaction with the program, highlighting group interaction, relaxation, and mental health education. These findings suggest that the intervention has potential to promote emotional and social functioning in adolescents with psychiatric disorders. Further research with larger samples and control groups is needed to enable more robust evaluations of group interventions in vulnerable populations.
